We reply to most emails within 3 working days. We are closed on Sri Lankan public holidays. We write and read English, Sinhala and Tamil, so please write in whichever language is easiest for you.
MotoBi is operated by ThuliNexis Digital (Pvt) Ltd, Maskeliya, Sri Lanka.
We will never ask you for money or passwords
Nobody from MotoBi will ever ask you for your Google password, an OTP code, a bank transfer, a reload, or a fee to keep your listing active. If someone contacts you claiming to be from MotoBi and asks for any of these, it is a scam. Do not pay, and tell us at info@thulinexis.com. Our only email address is info@thulinexis.com.
Posting a listing
How do I post a bike for sale?
Open MotoBi, sign in, and tap the + button. Choose the brand and model, then enter the year, mileage, condition, district and your asking price. Add photos, write a short description, and submit. Your listing goes to our team for a quick check and then appears in the app.
Does it cost anything to post a bike?
No. Posting a motorbike on MotoBi is free.
What photos should I add?
Use your own photos of the actual bike you are selling, taken in daylight. A photo of the whole bike from the front-side angle, one from the rear-side, one of the odometer, one of the engine, and one of any damage will answer most buyers' questions before they call. Do not use photos taken from the internet or from another advertisement, and do not put your phone number inside the picture.
How long does approval take?
Most listings are checked within 24 hours. It can take a little longer on weekends and public holidays. You will get a notification in the app when your listing goes live.
My listing was rejected or removed. Why?
The most common reasons are photos that do not match the bike described, a price that is clearly wrong, missing or false details, contact numbers written into the photos or description, the same bike posted several times, or something that is not a motorbike. When our staff remove a listing they must give a reason, and that reason is sent to you. If you think it was a mistake, reply to us at info@thulinexis.com and we will look again. The Seller Rules set out what is allowed.
How do I edit or delete my listing?
Go to Profile → My Listings, open the listing and tap edit or delete. If you have sold the bike, please mark it as sold or delete it so buyers stop calling you.
Nobody is calling me. What can I do?
Check that the mobile number on your account is correct and that you answer calls from unknown numbers. Beyond that, clear photos, an honest description and a realistic price do more than anything else. Compare your price with similar bikes of the same year and mileage in your district.
Can I boost my listing to the top?
Paid boosting is not available yet. When it opens you will be able to choose how many days you want the boost to run and which districts it should reach, and pay for it in the app.
Getting a shop approved
Which shops can register?
Mechanic shops and spare parts shops in Sri Lanka. Registration lets people looking for repairs or parts in your area find your shop, see what you do and call you.
How do I register my shop?
In the app, go to Profile → Register Shop. Fill in the shop details, upload the documents listed below, accept the shop owner terms, and submit. Your registration then goes to our staff for approval.
What documents do I need?
You will be asked for:
- Your business registration certificate or trade licence
- The front of the shop owner's National Identity Card
- The back of the shop owner's National Identity Card
- A clear photo of the shop
Take the photos in good light and make sure all four corners of each document are in the picture and the text can be read.
What happens to my identity documents?
They are used only to check that the shop and the owner are real. They are stored privately, are never shown in the app or to other users, and are never published anywhere. Only our approval staff can see them. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail, and the Delete Your Account page if you want them removed.
How long does shop approval take?
Usually 2 to 5 working days. If a document is unreadable or does not match the shop details, we will email or call you and ask for it again, which adds a few days.
Does shop registration cost anything?
No. Registering a shop is free. Membership, which will let a shop appear higher in its area's list, is also free for now.
My shop registration was rejected.
The usual reasons are documents that cannot be read, an owner name that does not match the National Identity Card, an expired trade licence, or a shop photo that does not show a real shop. Email info@thulinexis.com with your shop name and district and we will tell you exactly what is needed.
How do I change my shop details or remove my shop?
Open your shop from Profile and edit the details. Some changes need to be approved again before they show in the app. To remove your shop from the directory, email info@thulinexis.com.
Reporting a problem
How do I report a listing, a shop or an advertisement?
Open the listing, shop or advertisement in the app and tap Report. Choose a reason and add anything else we should know. The report goes straight to our review team. You can also email info@thulinexis.com with a screenshot if you would rather not use the app.
What should I report?
- A bike you believe is stolen, or one with papers that do not match
- A price or description that is clearly false
- Photos taken from another advertisement or from the internet
- Anyone asking for an advance payment, a deposit or a reload before you have seen the bike
- Someone claiming to work for MotoBi and asking for money, a password or an OTP
- Abusive, threatening or offensive content or messages
- A shop that is not real, or a shop listed under someone else's documents
- The same listing posted many times
What happens after I report something?
Our team reviews every report. Depending on what we find, we may leave the listing as it is, ask the seller to correct it, take it down, or suspend the account. When a listing is removed, the seller is told the reason. We do not tell the person who reported them who made the report.
Will the seller know it was me?
No. Reports are confidential. We do not pass your name or number to the person you reported.
I think I have been scammed. What now?
If you have lost money or handed over a vehicle, report it to the Sri Lanka Police straight away — that is the only route to recovering money or property. Then email info@thulinexis.com with the listing details, the phone number involved and anything else you have, so we can remove the account and help prevent it happening to someone else. If the police ask us for information about the account, we will cooperate with a proper request. Remember that MotoBi is not a party to any sale and cannot recover money for you, so the Buyer Safety Tips are worth reading before you meet anyone.
Something in the app is not working.
First close the app fully and open it again, then check that you are on the latest version from Google Play and that your connection is working. If it still fails, email info@thulinexis.com and tell us your phone model, your Android version, what you were doing when it went wrong, and send a screenshot if you can.
Account and sign-in
How do I sign in?
MotoBi uses Google Sign-In. Tap Continue with Google and choose your account. There is no separate MotoBi password to remember, and we never see your Google password. The first time you sign in we ask for your mobile number, because buyers need a way to call you.
Can I change the mobile number on my account?
Yes. Go to Profile → Edit Profile and change the number. Your existing listings will show the new number.
How do I delete my account?
Email info@thulinexis.com with the subject Delete my MotoBi account. The Delete Your Account page explains exactly what is deleted, what we have to keep and why, and how long it takes. You do not need the app installed to do this.
