Delete Your Account

You can ask us to delete your MotoBi account and the data attached to it at any time. You do not need to install the app, open the app, or be logged in to make this request.

Last updated: 22 August 2026

Applies to the MotoBi Android app and any MotoBi account created through it.

How to request deletion

Send an email to info@thulinexis.com with the subject line Delete my MotoBi account.

In the email, include:

  • The email address you used to sign in to MotoBi (your Google account email).
  • The mobile number registered on your MotoBi account.
  • Your name as it appears in the app.
  • If you registered a shop, the shop name and district.

Send the email from the same address you use to sign in to MotoBi if you can. This is the quickest way for us to confirm the account is yours. If you cannot, tell us in the email and we will verify your identity another way.

Deleting from inside the app

MotoBi does not have a self-service delete button in the app yet. Email is currently the only way to request deletion, and it works whether or not the app is installed on your phone. When an in-app delete option is added, this page will be updated.

What we confirm before we delete

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone, so we check that the request is genuine before we act on it. We will reply to your email to confirm we received the request, and we may ask one or two questions that only the account holder can answer — for example, the last listing you posted, or the mobile number on the account. We will not ask you for your Google password, and we will never ask you to send us money.

What gets deleted

When your request is processed, the following are permanently deleted from our systems:

Data deleted when your MotoBi account is deleted
DataWhat happens
Account and profile Your name, email address, mobile number, profile photo, district and any other profile details are deleted.
Sign-in link The link between your Google account and MotoBi is removed. MotoBi never stores your Google password.
Your listings All bikes you posted — active, expired, sold or unpublished — are removed from the app, together with their photos, prices and descriptions.
Uploaded photos and files Listing photos and any other files you uploaded are deleted from our file storage.
Shop registration If you registered a mechanic or spare parts shop, the shop entry is removed from the directory, and the documents you uploaded for approval — business registration or trade licence, National Identity Card images, shop photo — are deleted.
Saved items and preferences Saved or favourited listings, saved searches, language choice and notification settings are deleted.
Notification tokens The device tokens used to send you push notifications are deleted, and you stop receiving notifications from MotoBi.
Reports you sent Reports you submitted about listings, shops or advertisements are kept, but your name and contact details are removed from them so they can no longer be traced back to you.

What we must keep, and why

A small amount of information is kept after your account is deleted. We keep only what we are required to keep, or what is needed to protect other users, and we keep it for no longer than the period shown.

Data retained after account deletion, with reason and period
What we keep Why How long
Payment and transaction records If you paid us for a boost, an advertisement or any other paid feature, we must keep the record of that payment to meet Sri Lankan tax and accounting law. These records contain the amount, date and reference only. As required by Sri Lankan law, normally 5 years from the end of the relevant financial year
Records of serious rule breaches If your account was suspended or removed for fraud, a scam, a stolen vehicle, harassment or another serious breach, we keep a minimal record so the same person cannot immediately open a new account and repeat it. This protects other users. Up to 3 years
Reports made about you by others Reports submitted by other users are kept as part of our safety records, with your personal details removed unless we are required to keep them for a legal claim or an investigation. Up to 3 years
Legal and law-enforcement holds If we have received a valid request from a court, the police or another authority, or if we need the information to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim, we must keep the relevant data until that matter ends. Until the matter is concluded
Anonymous and aggregated statistics Counts such as how many listings were posted in a district. These contain nothing that identifies you and cannot be linked back to you. Indefinitely
Encrypted backups Our backups are taken on a rolling schedule and cannot be edited one record at a time. Your data stays in existing backup copies until those copies expire and are overwritten. It is not used for anything during that time. Up to 90 days after deletion

Things to know before you ask us to delete

  • It cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted we cannot restore it, your listings or your shop. If you want to use MotoBi again later you will have to register from the beginning.
  • Your listings disappear from the app. Buyers who saved or were about to contact you will no longer be able to reach you through MotoBi.
  • An approved shop must be registered again. Shop approval is not kept. If you register the shop again in future, you will need to upload the documents again and wait for approval again.
  • Money already paid is not refunded. Deleting your account does not refund a boost, advertisement or other paid feature that has already been paid for, whether or not it has finished running.
  • Deleting MotoBi does not touch your Google account. Only the link between your Google account and MotoBi is removed.
  • Removing the app is not the same as deleting your account. Uninstalling MotoBi from your phone leaves your account and listings in place. You must send the email to have them deleted.

If you only want part of your data removed

You do not have to delete the whole account to remove something. Write to info@thulinexis.com and tell us what you want removed. For example, you can ask us to take down a single listing, remove your shop from the directory while keeping your account, or delete the identity documents you uploaded for shop approval once the shop is no longer listed. You can also delete a listing yourself from Profile → My Listings in the app.

Questions or problems

If you do not receive a reply within 5 working days, send the email again and write SECOND REQUEST at the start of the subject line. If you believe a deletion request was not handled properly, reply to our confirmation email, write ESCALATE at the start of the subject line, and tell us what went wrong.

Who handles your request
